How did you become interested in neuroradiology?
I’ve always been fascinated by the brain and how it shapes who we are. I studied psychology in college because I loved learning about the connection between the brain and behavior. That curiosity grew over time into wanting to understand the brain from a more structural and visual perspective. When I started radiology residency, I was drawn to neuroradiology because it felt like the perfect blend of complex anatomy, problem-solving, and impact on patient care.

Why did you join ASNR?
I joined ASNR to be part of a community that is dedicated to advancing neuroradiology. It’s a place that encourages growth through education, mentorship, and collaboration. I’ve valued the chance to learn from leaders in the field, connect with colleagues who are passionate about neuroradiology, and take advantage of the outstanding educational resources that help members stay current and continually improve as clinicians.
How has your life experiences shaped your approach to your career?
My background and experiences have taught me the importance of curiosity, perseverance, and empathy in medicine. Working in different clinical environments has reinforced my belief that every imaging study represents a patient’s story and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. As Residency Program Director, I think back to what it was like to be a trainee in Radiology. This helps me understand the unique needs of residents and motivates me to cultivate a positive, supportive learning environment that inspires curiosity and confidence. Mentorship has played such a defining role in my own development, and I try to pay that forward by helping the next generation of radiologists reach their full potential and develop a lifelong desire to excel.
Who/what has inspired you?
I’ve been inspired by mentors who lead with kindness, generosity, and a genuine commitment to helping others grow. Their example has shown me how powerful mentorship can be in shaping careers and in building confidence and purpose. I’ve also been fortunate to learn from leaders who have modeled integrity and vision, and who have encouraged me to develop my own leadership skills along the way. I’m continually motivated by my colleagues, whose dedication pushes me to keep learning and improving, and by the residents and fellows I have the privilege of teaching. Watching them grow, both personally and professionally, and seeing their excitement for learning remind me every day why I love this work.
