How to Join ASNR as a New Member
Please note: Following the Spring 2025 updates to the ASNR Constitution, qualifying candidates must join ASNR as a Member and serve as a member for three consecutive years (member-in-training years do not count towards these 3 consecutive years) before being elevated to a Senior Member. Senior Members who were active prior to the Constitution changes will have their current membership status honored. Please email the Member Services team at membership@asnr.org and provide your full name, email address, member ID number (if available) and request a Senior Member dues invoice link. To see if you are eligible for Senior Membership, please visit the appropriate category below.
- Create an ASNR Account login and Password.
- Review your membership options below and then click the Login to Become a Member button for that option.
- Fill out all necessary information and submit.

MEMBERSHIP TYPES
Member
Shall be a radiologist who does not meet the criteria for Senior Member status or the criteria for Member-in-Training, Honorary Member, or Emeritus Member. Upload your most recent CV (in English) during the application process.

Senior Member
Shall be a radiologist that meets the following requirements:
- Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), The American Osteopathic College of Radiology, or other Board or Tribunal which, in the judgment of the Board of Directors, is of equivalent rank; AND
- Completed a one-year American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or RCPSC-approved neuroradiology fellowship program, or another neuroradiology fellowship which, in the judgment of the Membership Committee, is of equivalent rank; AND
- Passed the ABR Subspecialty Certification examination in neuroradiology, or another certifying neuroradiology examination which, in the judgment of the Membership Committee, is of equivalent rank; AND
- Engaged in the active practice of Neuroradiology, devoting at least fifty percent (exclusive of administrative duties) to the professional practice of Neuroradiology; AND
- Has been an ASNR member in good standing for at least the last 3 consecutive years (member-in-training years do not count towards these 3 consecutive years).
Individuals who do not meet all criteria for Senior Member status may be considered for election based on exceptional neuroradiology experience or contributions, as recommended by the Membership Committee and approved by a majority vote of the ASNR Board. Member – Military

Member
Physicists (PhD) or neuroscientists (MS, PhD) with an interest in and/or position relevant to Neuroradiology or Radiology, and who may not fulfill the requirements for Senior membership are eligible to apply for Research Scientist Member.
Member-Research Scientist/PhD dues are $110* annually.
Senior Member – Research Scientist/PhD
Physicist (PhD) or neuroscientist (MS, PhD) that serves as a member for three consecutive years (member-in-training years do not count towards these 3 consecutive years) with an interest in and/or position relevant to Neuroradiology or Radiology and meets the following criteria:
- Has peer-reviewed publications in neuroradiology and imaging neurosciences; AND
- Has a track record of attending at least 2 ASNR meetings, or has participated as a member in ASNR committees/study groups; AND
- Engages in neuroradiology research for 50 percent or more of their work (as supported by a letter from a supervisor)
Individuals who do not meet all criteria for Senior Member status may be considered for election based on exceptional neuroradiology experience or contributions, as recommended by the Membership Committee and approved by a majority vote of the ASNR Board. Senior Member – Research Scientist/PhD dues are $110* annually.

Radiologists/neuroradiologists in developing countries with an annual per-person GDP of $10,000 or less are eligible to apply for International (Low GDP) Member. Your country must be listed on the WHO Hinari A or B country list, https://www.research4life.org/access/eligibility/. Upload your most recent CV (in English) during the application process.
International (Low GDP) Member dues are $110* annually.
Senior Member
Shall be radiologists/neuroradiologists in developing countries with an annual per-person GDP of $10,000 or less. Your country must be listed on the WHO Hinari A or B country list, https://www.research4life.org/access/eligibility/. You must also meet the following criteria. Upload your most recent CV (in English) during the application process:

International (Low GDP) Senior Member dues are $110* annually.

ASNR offers a special transitional rate to those who have recently completed a fellowship in neuroradiology or a radiology subspecialty area.
Junior Member – First Year – $220.00*
Individuals who have completed a fellowship in neuroradiology or a radiology subspecialty area, within the past 12 months, are eligible to apply.
Junior Member – Second Year – $440.00*
Individuals who have completed a fellowship in neuroradiology or a radiology subspecialty area, within the past 13-24 months, are eligible to apply.

Associate Member
An Associate Member shall be a non-radiologist physician or a non-physician medical professional with an interest in neuroradiology, including but not limited to neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, radiology nurses, radiology technologists, or radiology advanced practice providers.

- Associate Member – Tech/Nurse – $110* annually
Advanced practice providers (APP) including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and technologists. Healthcare professionals (non-physicians) who work in the field of neuroradiology, radiology, or imaging sciences.

ASNR offers complimentary ($0 fee) membership to all those currently in-training.
ALL MIT APPLICANTS – To apply for an ASNR MIT membership:
- Click on the Create An Account button to setup your ASNR account, password and contact information. If you already have an account, but are unable to access it, please email membership@asnr.org.
- Once your account is created, complete the Personal and Contact information sections under your Member Profile. Next, click Become a Member under the Memberships tab in the left-hand menu.
- You’ll be required to upload your most recent CV and a copy of your letter of good standing or a completed Education Verification Form.
- Follow the prompts to join ASNR and to sign up for ASNR study groups.

Member-in-Training – Fellow
Physicians in an ACGME-, RCPSC-accredited (Canadian), or other approved neuroradiology or related subspecialty fellowship program are eligible to apply for Member-in-Training Fellow Member. There is a two-year maximum on complimentary membership for Neuroradiology Fellows.
Member-in-Training – Resident
Physicians in an ACGME-, RCPSC-accredited (Canadian), or other approved radiology residency program are eligible to apply for Member-in-Training Resident Member.
Member-in-Training – Medical Student
Medical students are eligible to apply for Member-in-Training Medical Student Member.
Member-in-Training – Graduate Student Graduate (PhD) students, or post-doctoral fellows within five years of doctoral degree are eligible to apply for Member-in-Training Graduate Student Member.
Shall be a Member or Senior Member who has maintained good standing for at least 10 years and has completely retired from practice. ASNR offers complimentary ($0 fee) membership to current ASNR members who are fully retired from active practice.
