ASNR Election Position Descriptions
Vice President: The Vice President plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission of ASNR by working closely with the President, President-Elect, and Executive Director to support strategic priorities and Society initiatives. The Vice President serves as Chair of the Advisory Council, makes committee appointments for the upcoming term, and helps ensure strong communication and engagement across ASNR leadership.
The Vice President serves on the Executive Council and the Nominating, Financial Management, Program, and Corporate Partners Committees. This position is filled by a Senior Member with demonstrated leadership experience, strategic vision, and the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and inspire future ASNR leaders.
Secretary: The Secretary supports the effective governance by ensuring Board meetings are properly organized and documented, helps maintain Society and membership records in collaboration with staff, and oversees leadership communications and correspondence. The Secretary is knowledgeable in the ASNR Constitution and governance documents, advises on governance matters and proposed amendments, and reports on Society activities at the Annual Business Meeting.
The Secretary serves on the Executive and Advisory Councils and participates on the Nominating, Financial Management, Rules, Membership, and Audit Committees. This position is filled by a Senior Member with demonstrated governance experience, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative communication style.
Executive Council Member-at-Large: The Executive Council Member-at-Large serves as a liaison between the ASNR Board of Directors and key areas of neuroradiological representation. This two-year elected position enhances broad representation on the Executive Council and will be filled by an interventional neuroradiologist.
Nominating Committee Member: The Nominating Committee is composed of six elected Senior Members who oversee the nomination and election process for ASNR leadership. Members serve two-year terms, and each year the committee places four to six candidates on the ballot for the ASNR Senior membership to elect three new committee members.
