Outstanding Contributions in Research Award

Deadline Date for all Nominations is Friday, October 21, 2022 (9:00 am Central Time)

PURPOSE: This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated consistent excellence and lifelong accomplishment in basic or clinical neuroscience research, particularly funded research from the NIH, NSF, March of Dimes, etc. 

ELIGIBILITY: A Senior ASNR member with long-term achievements in clinical or basic research.

ABOUT THE NOMINATION PROCESS: All members of the society may submit nominations as follows:

  • Nominations must be submitted via email, citing the educational accomplishments, e.g., “ X for their work developing innovative medical curricula and new teaching.”
  • Letter(s) of nomination must include one or two paragraphs of support (indicating what the nominee has accomplished).
  • If possible, a CV of the nominee would be appreciated with the nomination, providing it does not compromise the confidentiality of the nomination

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS: Please send nominations by Friday, October 21, 2022; 9:00 am Central Time to Liz Valdivia at evaldivia@asnr.org. On the subject line of the email, indicate: 2023 Outstanding Contributions in Research Award. Attach your nomination letter (and nominee’s CV, if available, as a Word or PDF document.)

EXCLUSIONS: Current Officers of the Society, members of the Advisory Council, members of the Foundation Board of Trustees, and members of the Awards Committee are ineligible for nomination.

AWARD PRESENTATION: The 2022 Outstanding Contributions in Research Award will be distributed during the President’s Appreciation Dinner at the ASNR 61st Annual Meeting, May 2, 2023, in Chicago.
