Gold Medal Award

PURPOSE: The Gold Medal Award is intended to foster the highest standards of the American Society of Neuroradiology, recognizing exceptional service and achievement. The Gold Medal is awarded on the basis of both professional and personal excellence, honoring individuals who are superb neuroradiologists, scientists, and/or physicians, and who also are truly outstanding people. Recipients will have consistently extended themselves beyond self-interest to make contributions that have benefited the entire field of neuroradiology.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES: Individuals who are clinicians, researchers, teachers, and/or well-recognized leaders in neuroradiology. Candidates are required to be Senior ASNR members. Successful candidates will have made extraordinary contributions to enhance the development and/or stature of neuroradiology, including service to the Society.

EXCLUSIONS:  Current Officers of the Society, members of the Advisory Council, Chairs of the Foundation Board of Trustees, members of the Awards Committee, and previous awardees of the award are ineligible for nomination. The Awards Committee should receive documentation by the deadline for the nominee to be considered.

NOMINATION PROCESS: Only ASNR members may submit nominations. The nomination deadline for 2025 has passed.

The Awards Committee will recommend up to 2 candidates to the Advisory Council, which will determine the winner(s) by majority vote.

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS: Nominations must be submitted by Monday, October 21, 2024; 9:00 AM Central Time via the nomination form. Please be sure to indicate Gold Medal Award in the dropdown menu and attach your nomination letter (and nominee’s CV, if available, as a Word or pdf document.) Be sure to provide details regarding relevant qualifications of the candidate. 

AWARD PRESENTATION: The 2025 Gold Medal will be presented during the President’s Gala at the ASNR 63rd Annual Meeting, May 17 – 21, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA.
