Added to 2004 Annual Meeting Program
Practical Tips on Getting Your Grant Funded, a two-part seminar on grant
writing sponsored by ASNR and the Neuroradiology Education and Research
(NER) Foundation, has been added to the program for the ASNR 42nd Annual
Meeting in Seattle, Washington. Janet S. Rasey, Ph.D., Director of the
Research Funding Service at the University of Washington Medical Center in
Seattle, Washington and a retired Professor of Radiation Oncology, will
present this seminar specifically designed for young investigators with an
interest in writing funded research proposals.
The workshop, presented over 2 days (4 hr/day) on Monday, June 7 and u
Tuesday, June 8, 2004, will focus on three major areas in the grant
writing process: Before You Write, Writing the Grant, and The Review
Process. Topics covered will include the elements of writing a
competitive research grant with an emphasis on NIH R01 proposals and an
explanation of grant review procedures and psychology. Enrollment is

National Library of
Medicine Demonstration and Workshop
Don't miss this unique opportunity! A showcase by the National Library of
Medicine (NLM)! They will be offering demonstrations and
hands-on-workshops focusing on PUBMEDŽ and MEDLINEplus throughout the
ASNR Annual Meeting. PUBMEDŽ is the National Library of Medicine's
web-based portal to the MEDLINE database. Searchable without charge,
PUBMEDŽ provides bibliographic access to the health literature, currently
containing over 15 million citations to articles written over the past 50
years. NLM also produces MEDLINEplus, a free consumer-friendly source of
up-to-date health information for patients. Visit and consult with
expert librarians or test-drive these and other NLM resources.
