International Attendees

The following information is provided to assist international attendees to the 2004 Symposium and 42nd Annual Meeting with the visa application process.

  • Visas are issued at any American Embassy or Consulate.
  • Allow a minimum of 120 days to complete the visa application process. Six months is recommended.
  • ASNR will provide individual letters of invitation on letterhead upon request.
  • A visa only allows travel to a United States (U.S.) port of entry.
  • The immigration inspector at the port of entry will determine if a person may enter the United States and the length of stay. Therefore, it is best to let the consular officer know of your plan to seek approval for the full duration of your planned visit in the United States.
  • ASNR has no influence in visa related issues.

ASNR encourages attendees to contact the Consular Section of the Embassy or Consulate near their location to determine how to apply and the likely time required to complete the visa application process. A list of consular offices is available online http://travel.state.gov/visa_services.html.

When traveling to the US, carry a copy of your planned itinerary. Include not only the visit to the ASNR Annual Meeting, but any following business or vacation plans.
